Fountain famous for its healing power, one of the 200 good Limousin fountains in Treignac
The fountain of Saint-Méen is one of the 200 "good fountains" limousines, "las bonas font" in Occitan. Already venerated by the Celts, it was famous for its healing power (skin or eye diseases). Although Christianized by Saint Méen in the middle of the 7th century, this spring does not carry a cross. It was a place of pilgrimage until recently, attracting many sick people, some of whom came from Brive by train to collect the "miraculous" water in bottles. Situated in the old village of the churches, it is on the path of pleasant hiking routes to discover Treignac and the Monédières massif.
