Treignac's market hall bears witness to the town's importance and opulence in the Middle Ages.
Built at the same time as the walled city, in the 13th century, this hall bears witness to the importance and opulence of the city in the Middle Ages. Destroyed after the sack of the city, it was rebuilt in 1484. Of its fourteen ashlar pillars, only twelve remain today, as two were demolished at the beginning of the 20th century to facilitate traffic in the district. One can admire the framework, a true masterpiece. Chestnut tree structure and slate roof from Travassac. On the right is "la cage aux lions", a screened lean-to where the official weights and measures are stored.
