THE GARDENS OF COLETTE AND ITS LABYRINTH
Gardens where you can touch, smell and enjoy the flowers and plants so beloved of writer Colette
Les Jardins de Colette and its Giant labyrinth, are located next to Castel-Novel castle where the famous writer Colette lived, on 5 hectares, an original and unique mini tour de France! During a literary stroll, more than 1,000 plant species take us on a journey through six thematic gardens corresponding to the six places that marked the artist's existence and work. This journey punctuated by texts invites us to discover an extraordinary woman who knew with a unique talent how to describe all the splendours of nature. These contemporary gardens, accessible to all, allow everyone to touch, smell and appreciate in all simplicity, the flowers and plants so loved by the writer Colette. Themed activities are also available at Easter, Halloween and night tours in summer.
The most "Family". A 5,000 m² vegetable labyrinth, a real life-size treasure hunt to discover Colette's world in a fun and original way! From password to secret code, doors open, water curtains stop to let you pass until the next obstacle. Games of XXL size (dominos, mikados, bell forest....) mark the course and invite you to fall back into childhood!
Summer nights: a theatrical visit in this idyllic setting illuminated by hundreds of candles. A concert usually closes this beautiful evening.
