THE UPHOLSTERER'S HOUSE
Magnificent house in Aubusson, where you can learn about the history of tapestry and meet a craftsman at work.
This magnificent 16th-century turret house, in the heart of the town, invites you to discover the history and tradition of Aubusson tapestry. Six centuries are traced through the studio of the cardboard painter, the tapestry merchant's office and the weaving workshop. The ambience of the rooms, the color of the wools, the cartoons, the tapestries and the weaving demonstration by a master weaver plunge you into the magical world of this ancestral art. "Jeannette la Chouette" will guide the youngest visitors with a booklet full of games and riddles.
