For years now, the town of Bénévent L'Abbaye has been overrun by the Moutonnades festival at the end of August. Organised from Friday evening to Sunday around the 24th of August, the date of Saint Barthélémy's Day, the event offers many activities around the sheep: explanations on transhumance, shearing demonstrations, wool working... This friendly event also hosts a farmers' market, shows (juggling, fire-eaters) and a fireworks display on Saturday evening.
