Museum retracing the history of the Bosmoreau mines, with a visit to an open-air trail of former mining sites
The museum tells the history of the Bosmoreau mines from 1784 to 1958. The visit is guided. A room of models reconstitutes the activity of the mine. The life of the miner and his family is retraced through the reconstruction of the kitchen of a mining town as well as the school that welcomed the children of the miners in the 1920s. An open-air tour of former mining sites completes the visit. It lasts a little over an hour. The museum belongs to the network "La Creuse en famille". It is managed by the association of friends of the museum.

Le guide est tout simplement génial. À ne pas manquer la salle de classe d epoque qui a été reconstituée.
Une petite boutique est présenté. On y trouve de beaux livres, des petits pots de charbon, des porres clefs très sympa.
A faire absolument.
It is interesting and guided.
You do not go down the mines as in Northern France but after the museum I went on the site of an ancient well.
Ma petite fille et moi sommes reparties enchantées
