The present form of the building dates from the 19th century, it is in neo-gothic style. The chapel contains a beautiful statue of the crowned Virgin, welcoming pilgrims with her two open hands. It was offered by Raoul de Montgrenier, the lord of Puy-en-Velay, to the Hospitaller order, to thank them for having freed him from slavery after the third crusade. The statue is venerated for the healing of cripples and dying children. A pilgrimage is organised on 15 August.
