SAINTE-ANNE CHURCH
Typical Romanesque church of the Creuse, with some remains of 15th century wall paintings in Boussac
This 13th century Romanesque church is typical of Creuse with its granite stones, its sculpted modillions worn out by time and its austere simplicity. Its bell tower, covered with chestnut shingles, was added in the 18th century. On the outside, to the right of the doorway, there is a graceful monolithic cross 5 metres high. The church has some remains of 15th century wall paintings (a musician and a shepherd). It is richly furnished with an imposing carved altarpiece from the 17th century. This one has twisted columns and large statues of dark wood. A 15th century Pietà, an ancient boxwood Christ and a copy of the Adoration of the Magi by Lorenzo du Credi complete the ensemble.
