Viaduct in Budelière, with metal structure, evoking the Parisian Iron Lady, to be admired from the village of Châtelet
This viaduct was designed and built by Gustave Eiffel between 1885 and 1887. It served as a thoroughfare for trains linking the Corrèze town of Ussel to the capital of the Allier, Montluçon. Today, of course, the viaduct is no longer a crossing point for railway lines. Its 250-metre long metal structure, reminiscent of the Parisian Iron Lady, can still be seen from the village of Le Châtelet.
