THE SCYTHE DAM
Dam built on the Dorat, a very rare achievement that exists in only two examples in Europe.
Built on the Dorat river, this 16.50 m high and 130 m long dam is remarkable for its multi-arch architecture. This type of construction is very rare: there are only two in Europe. When it was commissioned in 1953, the dam created a 45-hectare stretch of water, producing around 7 million kilowatts. It is also a site for night carp fishing. A total of twelve stations are spread out on the right bank of the reservoir. This no kill fishing is authorized from April1st to November 30th, it is very regulated (contact the fishing federation).
