THE ROMANESQUE CHURCH OF THE MOUTIER
The Romanesque church of Sainte-Valérie, known as the Eglise du Moutier, is an architectural treasure trove of sculptures and paintings in Felletin.
Rebuilt in the 15th century after a fire, the church of Sainte-Valérie, known as the Eglise du Moutier, features one of the most original bell towers in the Creuse and a flamboyant ogival portico. The3rd floor is decorated with statues of apostles, with sculpted gargoyles and an openwork balustrade above. The church is also home to fine wall paintings dating from the 14th to 19th centuries, painted wooden statues, 19th-century stalls and Baroque altarpieces. Don't miss the lovely view of this quiet village from the church tower.
