CHURCH OF ST. PIERRE AND ST. PAUL
Pretty Creusoise church with organ and tabernacle
Vast and clear, this beautiful church in the Creuse region was built on the site of a former chapel of the monastery around which the town was organized in the 13th century. Destroyed by the revolutionaries and rebuilt in the 19th century, it retains the first bay of the nave and the south porch from the 13th-century edifice. Admire the superb stained glass windows, the 17th-century tabernacle and the beautiful green organ, built by Parisian organ builder Jean-Joseph Stein between 1850 and 1852.
