THE FOUNTAIN OF THREE GRACES
Fountain built in 1885 and named after the three mythological characters who carry its upper basin
Built in 1885, the Fountain of the Three Graces thrones on Place Bonnyaud, the main esplanade of Guéret. Majestic, it was chosen from a catalogue of architects by the Municipality of the time to replace the previous fountain. Its name comes from the three mythological characters that carry its upper basin. Called "Charities" in Greek mythology and "Three Graces" by the Romans, they are mainly known under the names of Thalia, Aglaia and Euphrosine, daughters of Zeus and Eurynome.
