MAZEAU CASTLE
Mazeau Castle is one of the few Renaissance buildings in the region. Probably built on an ancient site, it was probably the place of residence of the abbots of Bonlieu, the nearby Cistercian abbey. Local legends even tell that underground galleries link the castle to the abbey, which is unlikely to be seen in the light of the hardness of the granitic basements. Between 2012 and 2014, the new owners, Mr. and Mrs. Terraz, launched renovations. There were many projects: Reconstruction of a tower, restoration of facades, painting of murals, etc. During the summer, guided tours allow for a stroll in the rooms of Château-Neuf and Château-Vieux.
