THE JARRAUD CASCADE
Visit the Jarrauds waterfall, an exceptional natural heritage site in Saint-Martin-Château.
The Maulde, a peaceful river that originates in the commune of Gentioux-Pigerolles, finds strength and power during its passage through Saint-Martin-Château. It then offers visitors the opportunity to appreciate the Jarrauds waterfall. Having become torrential, the river crashes noisily at a height of almost 15 metres on the rocks to the delight of the eyes. It is from this waterfall that the town of Bourganeuf, 14 km away, was electrified in 1889. An easy path leads to this exceptional natural heritage (less than 3 km).
