SAINTE-FEYRE CASTLE
Castle built in 1760 with two floors, each level highlighted by a projecting band, facades facing north and south
Built in 1760 on the site of a former feudal castle according to the plans of the famous Limousin architect Joseph Brousseau, the castle of Sainte-Feyre is about 45 metres long and 15 metres wide. It has two floors above the cellars, each level of which is highlighted by a continuous projecting band. The two facades face north and south. Their architecture is symmetrical on either side of the main building. The walls are sloping at basement level and the date of construction is written in Roman numerals under the lower band. The south pediment features the Mérigot family coat of arms.
