THE CHURCH
All the walls of this church have been covered with murals and contemporary stained glass
The interior of the church, rebuilt in the 19th century, inevitably causes a great surprise. The walls have been covered with contemporary murals and stained glass windows (400 m2) executed by Gabriel Chabrat, a master cartoonist and painter, living in the village. The use of primary colours, oversized and stylized forms plunges the visitor into another world. The entire work is inspired by the Old and New Testament. The statues: Sainte-Anne, Saint-Léonard and Saint-Antoine, come from the ruined old church of Mareilles. In season, a detour to the studio of the painter and his daughter, Véronique Chabrat, will broaden the visitor's vision of his work. A small leaflet will be offered to children.
