This Romanesque church was doubled by a parallel church with a bell tower, topped by a granite spire of 25 meters
Occupying the end of a terrace overlooking the Vincou and the viaduct, the church was originally the chapel of the castle of the Counts of the March (built in the 12th century). In the 14th century, the Romanesque church was doubled by a parallel church with a bell tower, surmounted by a granite spire of 25 meters. The sculpture on the tympanum of the portal, in limestone, represents the legend of Loreto. To the left of the door, a stone dated 1621 is a reuse of the first chapel. This church has two naves: one Romanesque and the other Gothic, as well as two adjoining chapels. The capitals of the Romanesque apse, the Limousin portal with four arches and small serpentine capitals, and above all the remarkable and famous champlevé enamel shrine, the oldest preserved work of the Limousin enamellers. Do not miss the organ dating from 1878.
