MANOIR HENRI IV
Manor house with terrace featuring local products with a short menu.
On the old road to Paris, this 16th century manor house is easily noticeable thanks to its turret. Residence of Henri IV when the king came to hunt at the Croix du Breuil with his friend Sornin de la Plagne, then owner of the place, the residence takes us several centuries back in time: the back room will delight you with its large exposed beams, its granite slabs on the floor, its niches and alcoves, its beautiful wooden doors with ornate locks and its large inglenook in which the fire crackles and warms up in winter. It's like an old-fashioned castle kitchen, with its copper pots and pans and china cabinet. Gastronomic proposals between the gourmet and the refined that highlight the products of the region: Limousin terrine with black-assed pork and chestnuts, Limousin beef steak with marrow sauce, saddle of lamb in a lemon confit crust. The sea is also in the spotlight with scallop swimming or scallops. Fish and meat of the day. Don't miss the farmhouse cheeses, some of which come from the region, and above all, leave room for dessert as the chef excels in this area: black forest style tiramisu filled with morello cherries, invisible apple cake... The map is short, which bodes well. A professional welcome, always very attentive to customers. Nice choice of wines in the cellar. A good table whose prices have been stable for a long time. Pleasant terrace in the summer and beautiful park.
