ÉCOLE DU MONT-GARGAN
This venerable folk group celebrated its 80 years in 2016. It is the best known in Limousin. Located at the foot of Mont-Gargan, in a small rural municipality, it maintains traditions. Adults and children embark on limousines dances: babes, marches, ode, but also imitatives dances and aristocratic dances. The dancers follow the rhythms of their musicians who resonate with the old, cabrettes, accordions and violins. If you don't want to join the group, you can see it evolve and admire the costumes (wide skirt and hats worked for women, shirt or frock for men). Each year, the group organizes a folk Meeting in August, where dances from other countries (Israel and the Canaries in 2017) can be discovered.
