THE SERPENTINE MOOR OF ST. LAWRENCE
A recognized site of major ecological interest at European level, the St. Lawrence lande presents a vast outcrop of serpentine, this little acidic rock that appeared in the bottom of the oceans 300 million years ago and gives its character so peculiar to the place, where poussent and ajoncs grow. Lande covers 20 ha. The pastures are maintained by a flock of sheep. A 1-hour interpretation trail (5 km) allows a fun and fun walk on pastoralism. Four audio stations (in French and Occitan) and nine interactive thematic stations with reading table (in French, Occitan, English) marked this poetic course on which one walks on the sheep footprints and the voice of Sebastien, shepherd of the lande. A nature walk full of charm for the whole family. A short circuit of 800 m (30 minutes) is also proposed.
