A mine housing the Maison de l'or en Limousin, and organizing gold panning courses on the banks of the Isle at Le Chalard

The Bourneix gold mine, in the commune of Le Chalard, was the last to be exploited in France (closed in 2002). It is now home to the Maison de l'or en Limousin, where you can learn all about gold mining in the region from the Gauls to the 21st century, including the gold rush of the 1900s: objects, personal accounts, photos... In summer, gold panning courses are organized on the banks of the Isle, and a gold panning competition is held for children.

It is brilliant! You are in the middle of nature, at the waterfront, one arrangements at another era... the gold diggers... and gets served up quickly, believe me: -) Large and small, no difference... when you find finally some sequins at the foot of its packsaddlled, all sequins in the eyes; -) Thank You in Philippe who is really super!
