THE PRIORESS OF THE CANONS
From the original priory (Début Th Shekel), there remain only the chapter wing and the chapter hall. Founded by two lords, Aymeric from Rochechouart and Henry, he was placed under the protection of the canons of the collegiate of Saint-Junien, the priory of canons regular of the Halls observed originally the precept of Saint Augustine. Several changes were made in the th and th centuries. In order to deal with the severity of the winters, the canons have carried out the division of certain parts: a wall with chimney was built to divide the dormitory into two parts so heated, the ground floor room was transformed into two pieces, one with the chimney, the other with the bread oven. Completely restored, it is open to the public and welcomes exhibitions and handicraft products during the estiavale period.
