Haviland is a porcelain factory. And porcelain means Limoges. It is there that for a century and a half, Haviland has been doing goldsmith's work for the most prestigious clients around the world. Its success lies in the alliance between the control of the industrial process and its collaboration with the greatest artists of the time. The quality of his work has been rewarded with the Entreprise du patrimoine vivant label.

History. In 1842, David Haviland, totally fascinated by the white gold of the Limousin, left the United States to settle in Limoges. With the help of his two sons Charles-Edward and Théodore, they run their factory with exceptional creativity and know-how. The company immediately exerted its influence on tableware and exported en masse to the United States. Haviland & Cie was founded in 1864 and Theodore relaunched its activity, which went bankrupt during the Civil War. Charles came up with an idea that had never before been discussed: working with an artist to decorate his luxury products. He then embarked on chromolithography, a Japanese technique that allowed him to apply drawing and colour in a single step. The technique makes it possible to reduce costs and create new sets.

In the 1880s, Theodore set up his own company, Theodore and Haviland Co., and built a modern factory. Every day, he creates decorations, with great refinement and inspired by the 18th century. In 1919, his son William Dannat succeeded him and collaborated with renowned artists such as Jean Dufy and Suzanne Lalique for his new sets. With celadon and ivory, he makes avant-garde models. His creations are considered to be among the great and beautiful achievements of the Art Deco porcelain era. Thus, from the United States with Lincoln, Grant, Hayes, Roosevelt, to Europe with Empress Eugénie, Raymond Poincaré, Georges Daladier, Vincent Auriol, René Coty, General de Gaulle, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, Jacques Chirac... the greatest personalities succumb to the charm and prestige of this exceptional French porcelain.

The products. Plates, cups, teapots, candle holders...

The Daum-Haviland Group is also a master in crystal production. Royal Champagne Crystal has joined porcelain and silverware within the group and offers complete and refined pieces. The crystal factory has a great history. A family of Italian glassmakers from Murano, the Mazzolay family, founded the manufactory in 1678, thanks to a royal privilege granted by Louis XIV. The Marquot dynasty, from father to son, then ensured the success and worldwide fame of the crystal factory for nearly a century and a half, providing services for General de Gaulle, President John Fitzgerald Kennedy and the King of Morocco. Cristallerie Royale de Champagne has been able to differentiate itself thanks to contemporary shapes and colours and handmade creations piece by piece. The ancestral know-how is jealously preserved, the glasses are still hand-blown, and each production step is carried out by a different craftsman.

The products. Wine glasses, flutes, carafes and jugs, water glasses, mugs, whisky cups...
