J.M. WESTON
History: A French manufacturer established since 1891 in Limoges, J.M. Weston is the reference in the world of luxury footwear for man. The history of J.M. Weston begins in the late nineteenth century in the heart of Limousin, in a region where tanning and leather work are tradition. In 1891, Edouard Blanchard installed his shoe factory for men and women. He is soon joined by his son Eugene, whose eyes look to the US and their modernity. In 1904, Eugene spent two years studying the innovative technique of sesu Goodyear and manufacturing in several widths. This trip, which takes him to the city of Weston (hence the name of the claw), permanently determines his approach to the profession of master shoe: it slows manufacturing to increase quality and works in multiple widths. The American flagship store is set up a few years later on Avenue des Champs-Elysées. In 1932, J.M. Weston became a meeting place, where all Paris crossed. In these years, the emblematic models of the house are born today: hunting, half hunting, cambre and golf. The moccasin appeared later, after the war, after more than two hundred trials in the Limoges workshops. Today, Limoges manufactures all the manufacturing stages, two months of work, from the choice of skin to the finish, and one hundred-fifty taken in hand. Each piece is made in the purest tradition, in the image of Goodyear sewn on gravuved wall, cambrazing in shape of the bottin or the Norwegian sewn of the Hunt, a model entirely realized by hand. Since 2001, artistic director Michel Perry has created creative dynamics: A testament to the success of the "New Classics", in the contemporary spirit, and faithful to the historic heritage of the House.
Particularity: J.M. Weston is also the sole shoe master to own his own tannery tannery. Tanning of the soles follows a unique ancestral course in the world, which requires a year of work. A variety of steps make up this plant tanning based exclusively on natural elements, including rare, but essential acts such as padding and manual threshing. Approximately one hundred thousand pairs of shoes are made every year by the two hundred craftsmen of the house.

Almost out of measure… The House also produces leather pieces, and offers a workshop dedicated to «Special Orders» that allows each customer to imagine the model of his dreams.
