LIBRARIA OCCITANA
The Libraria Occitana has been in existence since 1987 and is dependent on the Institute of Occitan Studies (IEO) for which it shares missions: working for the defence, preservation and development of Occitan, historically the language of oc common to thirty departments in south-western France. Far from the images pictures of goat breeders in the Larzac, the Libraria carries with conviction and passion its commitment. It is therefore the place to raise awareness of the Occitan language and culture. There is literature of all kinds, kitchen books, jeunesse, jeunesse or bilingual French-Occitan, accessories and local label products (Cerva d'oc, Colà limouzi…). Also note music (delicious, rock, electro…) and films translated into Occitan. The Libraria is present at the book salon in Limoges and regularly organises exhibitions, evenings and signings.
