Aquatic aquarium with 300 different species, presented on 800 m² of exhibition space in about 40 basins
Opposite the town hall, this aquarium is housed in the town's former shower baths, the Grands bains chinois (disused for almost 40 years). It's a magical setting: you'll feel like you're in a submarine... complete with televisions and digital picture frames. More than 2,500 aquatic animals of 300 different species are displayed in 800 m² of exhibition space, in some forty 160,000-litre tanks. The tour is designed as an around-the-world journey through all the world's waters. Journey through Europe's temperate freshwaters to meet native species such as sturgeon, catfish and the enormous wels catfish. Tropical freshwaters reveal an underwater fauna populated by electric fish and glass catfish. As for the clownfish and its anemone, the surgeonfish and the shimmering kashmirfish, they navigate the tropical seawaters. Among the stars: Teddy and Lili, two magnificent blacktip sharks. The aquarium is also expanding its collection of stingrays, with blue-tip, guitar and curly rays. Numerous events: guided tours, theme evenings, exhibitions, games and rallies for young and old... Don't forget: second visit to the aquarium at a reduced rate.
New: the turtle area has been refurbished, with the arrival of small catfish, sun perch and cold-water crayfish, new vivariums and the arrival of a stonefish, the most dangerous fish in the world!
