Museum housing an old 19th century kiln, classified as a historical monument, to learn more about the manufacture of porcelain.
This museum, run by the Espace Porcelaine association, houses a former 19th-century round kiln, listed as a Monument Historique. 20 meters high and over 7 meters wide, this remarkably well-preserved vestige, unique in France, gives an idea of the human activity and mastery of fire required to operate this brick monster. In a single batch, the kiln could fire 10,000 to 15,000 pieces of porcelain at two different temperatures for a full week. The museum boasts a permanent collection of captioned archive photographs, as well as a touch screen with a diagram explaining the flame's path through the kiln.
