THE GREEN PAVILION
Pavillon du Verdurier, designed by Roger Gonthier, built in 1919 with reinforced concrete facades in Limoges.
Built in 1919, this former refrigerated pavilion in the form of a single 400 m² hall was used to store meat from Argentina during the shortages of the early interwar period. The reinforced concrete building is covered in sandstone tiles and topped by a copper dome. It is the work of architect Roger Gonthier, who also designed the Benedictine station. The interior comprises two rooms (one of which is in the basement) adorned with stained-glass windows by Francis Chigot. Today, the pavilion is used for exhibitions.
