THE UNDERGROUNDS OF LIMOGES
In the narrow vicinity of the fortifications, the Limougeauds built in the Middle Ages a set of cellars and salles, which leveraging themselves, eventually created a network connected by galleries. A labyrinth of underground, in addition to a good state, winds in the entrailles of old Limoges. Ages (some dates from the Gallo-Roman era, most of which go back to the Middle Ages), dimensions and very varied shapes (cellars, galleries, aqueducts), these underground souterrains arouse the curiosity of the public, professional archaeologists or amateurs in search of thrills that do not hesitate to make a night visit. While many portions of the limougeaud basement are abandoned, others have undergone fine conversion, as bars, restaurants and art galleries have invested them and revive them. The underground of the Rule, consisting of two sections of metres, is the only one to be guided by guided tours. Located in the Bishopric of the Bishopric, the freshness of the days is appreciated.
