Departmental museum on a rocky promontory, with Renaissance-style architecture and elegant facades

Standing on a rocky promontory, this magnificent medieval château reflects the power of its builders, the Viscounts of Rochechouart. Since 1985, it has housed the Musée Départemental d'Art Contemporain. Built around major artistic movements, its collection focuses on 3 main themes: history, landscape and the imaginary. Each year, the museum presents thematic or monographic exhibitions. A children's booklet is available for 6-12 year-olds. Discover it for yourself!

Beau chateau sur son promontoir. La visite interieure est un plus. Les jolies colonnes torsadees et ses perspectives variées sont un bonheur pour les photographes. A faire avec une balade en ville.
