An interpretation trail that allows you to appreciate and discover about thirty species of ducks, waders and other birds
Classified as a Sensitive Natural Area in the Haute-Vienne department, the Pouge pond is an integral part of the bocage landscape of the Périgord-Limousin Regional Park. Its 32 hectares and its wooded surroundings offer a privileged setting for ornithological walks and fishing (1st category). A 2.5 km interpretive trail will allow you to appreciate and discover the diversity of the local fauna: about thirty species of ducks, waders and other water birds, whether breeding, wintering or migratory, but also dragonflies, amphibians and reptiles. It should be noted that the facilities created at the Etang de la Pouge have been awarded the Tourisme et Handicap label. A 500-metre walking trail is accessible to people with reduced mobility but also to people with mental and hearing disabilities. A fishing pontoon is equipped for people in wheelchairs.
