The museum
The Hydraviation museum, municipal cultural and tourist establishment four seasons with the appellation Museum of France and the state mark Quality Tourism is the place of memory of the base Latécoère of assembly and tests of seaplane, but also of commemoration of a century of aeronautical history. From transatlantic flights to New York and Fort-de-France to firefighting, you will discover the world of these airliners of yesterday and today!
Our aeronautical museum presents, within the framework of its temporary and permanent exhibitions, restored seaplanes, uniforms, souvenirs of famous pilots, reproductions, photographs, engines, propellers, archival documents, flight logs, trophies, suits, paintings by Air Force and Navy painters... A variety of materials that invite you to live a unique experience in the footsteps of great names: Latécoère, Saint-Exupéry, Mermoz, Guillaumet and many others.
A real journey back in time on 1250 m², in the heart of buildings once occupied by the workers of the Landes hydrobase at the beginning of the 20th century.

The temporary exhibition "Chasseurs d'image : la photographie aéronautique" from July 1st 2021 to January 2nd 2023
The temporary exhibition 2021-2022 "CHASSEURS D'IMAGES" is dedicated to aeronautical photography. Aviation has always been a dream and photography immortalizes it. Whether amateur or professional, the aeronautical photographer remains a passionate person, and a passion is shared! By getting as close as possible to the aircraft, to the men and women who fly them, to the crews or to the ground staff (mechanics, yellow dogs...) the "image hunter" sublimates, thanks to his shots, the alchemy that is created between man and mechanics. The International Seaplane Meeting of Biscarrosse, which celebrates in 2021 its 30th anniversary (1991-2021) remains an unavoidable event and constitutes a formidable playground, very appreciated by the image hunters: on the ground or in the air in the wake of seaplanes or airshows, the "image hunter" is in ambush
