SAINT-AMAND ABBEY

This abbey, with terraces dating from the late century, is considered the birthplace of the town.
Discover the remains of the 11th-century Saint-Amand Abbey, considered to be the birthplace of the town. Originally, the abbey would have consisted of a church, refectory, cells, cloister, courtyard, garden and stables. All that remains of the construction period is the north cross, half the chevet wall and two low vaulted rooms. We highly recommend a stroll along the terraces, which were laid out at the end of the 19th century, for a splendid view over the Vienne Valley and some superb sunsets!
