ST. JUNIAN COLLEGE
Collegiate church with sculpted capitals, frescoes and wall paintings from the 12th and 13th centuries
A sublime collegiate church. Built in Romanesque style from local granite between the 11th and mid-13th centuries, this is one of the largest and oldest churches in the region. It boasts a choir almost as large as the nave, and a 13th-century lantern for the dead at the height of the north transept. The church features sculpted capitals, frescoes and wall paintings from the 12th and 13th centuries, a reliquary bust of Saint Amand, a champlevé enamel shrine and the magnificent, finely sculpted tomb of Saint Junien.
