Saint-Laurent-sur-Gorre bears the name of one of the most revered saints of the Roman Church: the deacon Laurent persecuted in Rome in 258. Created at the time of merovingian, the parish implanted his church near a ford on the Gorre. The semi-Romanesque church, semi-Gothic Gothic granite, was built in several stages between the th and th centuries. Listed in historic monuments, it offers, in addition to its elegant Gothic steeple crowned with Chestnut Trees, its portal, its modillons, its solar dial, its «stone of the dead» (beautiful th century tombstone) and its Romanesque baptismal vats, four polychrome wooden statues of the th century: La Vierge à l'Enfant, Saint Jean-Baptiste, Saint Laurent and Saint Roch, his Chair to preach in carved oak, its altarpiece and carved wooden, painted and golden wooden autel and beautiful processional banners embroidered.
