THE BRIDGE OF NOBLAT
A bridge linking the town of Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat to other aspects of its past.
The Pont de Noblat, also known as the Vieux Pont (Old Bridge), located below the town, links the upper town to the fortified site of Noblat, giving a magnificent view of the banks of the Vienne. It's a beautiful 13th-century bridge, typically Limousin, with its three stone piers and pointed arches. Witnesses to medieval times, a few houses make up what remains of the Noblat district. This area was overlooked by a fortress built to keep watch over the surrounding area. A beautiful riverside lawn provides a pleasant setting for a picnic.
