PRIORITY
This priory founded by the first lord of Cons, Dudon, and his wife Hadwige, is classified as a historical monument
To the south of the castle, beyond the parish church, stands the Benedictine priory founded by the first lord of Cons, Dudon, and his wife Hadwige, daughter of the Count of Chiny. In the 1760s, it was rebuilt by the famous architect Laurent Benoît Dewez. At the time of the French Revolution, the church became a parish church. The priory is classified as a historical monument. It comprises: a barn, a dwelling, a pavilion, a crypt, a dovecote and a bread oven. Part of the building has already been converted into a gîte, and a second part is currently being converted. The prior's barn, once used for the agricultural activities of the Benedictine monks, which extends into the courtyard, is now dedicated to the festivities and cultural, family or business events that are organised there.
