ST. REMY'S CHURCH AND ORGAN
Church without pillars, but with imposing dimensions and which has three Baccarat crystal chandeliers in Deneuvre
The church of Saint-Rémy leaks built from 1742 to 1747, during the reign of Stanislas, on the site of the former fortified castle, from the ruins of the latter. It is a church without pillars, but its dimensions remain imposing. Three Baccarat crystal chandeliers highlight an 18th century painting by Girardet, evoking the baptism of Clovis. A Virgin and Child in polychrome wood and four stone statues date from the 16th century. But the main attraction of the church is its organ, dated 1704 and the work of Claude Legros. Restored in 1996, it is classified as a Historic Monument, as are many of the elements present in the church. It has 22 stops spread over three manuals as well as a French-style pedalboard. Today, the municipality has decided to launch the interior restoration of the choir, which is very damaged (cracks, decorations, etc.).
