JEAN-PIERRE FRINGANT
Jean-Pierre Fringant belongs to this category of craftsman/artist who practises the noble trade of wrought ironwork in this small village. In his workshop, the artist works and marries glass paste, wrought iron, crystal, glass, bronze. He makes lamps, candleholders, stained glass, mirrors, paperweights, jewellery, engraved bottles... Anyone who admits to having a weakness for working with wrought iron has left his mark on many works of Lorraine's heritage. Sensitive to nature and attached to the Ecole de Nancy, the Fringant style is characterised by the use of ginkgo leaves, laurels, the pope's coin, not forgetting roses and thistles, symbols of Lorraine, or dragonflies, emblems of Nancy. In 1985, he was awarded first prize at the Rencontres de ferronnerie d'art de Châteauroux. Two large exhibition halls welcome other creators, artists and craftsmen from Lorraine: painters, sculptors, ceramists, glassmakers who give demonstrations. Realization of works on request.
