RURAL AGRICULTURAL MUSEUM
Agricultural country museum in Fillières, with a wide range of old objects, with a collection of agricultural utensils
In 1978, a small group of old farm machinery enthusiasts were born. Together, they created the association Les Hasseus de Lorraine. The word hasseus means "old object to be thrown away" in Lorraine patois! Situated between Briey and Longwy, the village of Fillières and its 450 inhabitants houses the agricultural country museum. A picturesque place with the charm of yesteryear... with a wide range of old objects. On the grass, a collection of agricultural utensils marks out your route. The place, resolutely rural and welcoming, has been renovated on the side of the farming tools, i.e. those used for working the soil, i.e. ploughing. Over the years, the museum has been enriched with many rare items from the three neighbouring departments. As soon as you enter the village, don't miss the barn door with old wooden pillars. What's at stake in the agricultural museum? To pass on to future generations and to satisfy those nostalgic for the past. A beautiful glimpse of the peasant life of our ancestors before 1900. Since 1998, the museum hosts (from May 1st to October 1st) exhibitions of paintings in the presence of artists. Many treasures are admirably preserved here.
