A moving and unusual visit to enter the daily life of the miners and relive a day at the rhythm of the mine
Whether you are a curious visitor or a budding explorer, this visit, unique in Europe, will allow you to enter the old iron mine galleries, in the footsteps of the underground miners! For 120 years, these men shaped the future and the success of Lorraine by the sheer force of their hands. In spite of trying working conditions (darkness, dust, noise...), and sometimes at the risk of their lives, they never gave up the hard work that has sustained many generations... Economy, work, social wealth and solidarity: these were the other fruits harvested in the mine. This moving and unusual visit will take you into the daily life of the miners. Relive a day at the rhythm of the mine. You can even watch a simulated mine shooting!
Useful information: Warm clothing and walking shoes are strongly recommended. Miner's helmet and lamp provided. Claustrophobic and young children, abstain!
Some notions of industrial history: the classic site of a blast furnace presupposed the conjunction of an iron deposit, a forest for fuel, and a watercourse. This conjunction enabled the Lorraine mining basin to become the world centre for the production of cast iron

The ratings and reviews below reflect the subjective opinions of members and not the opinion of The Little Witty.
Mieux qu'un musée avec des engins miniers qui fonctionnent.
Mais aussi une équipe aux petits soins pour le barbecue qui a clôturé la visite.
A voir absolument !
