German military cemetery of Longuyon, with soldiers' graves, a place full of emotion and respect
The military cemeteries are unfortunately numerous in the region: it is here that the first combats of the war of movement in 1914 were the most violent. In the extension of the rue Mazelle, overlooking the city, the German military cemetery contains 1,756 graves of soldiers (1,748 Germans and 8 French) who died during the 1914-1918 war. Some of them lost their lives during the battle of Longuyon-Noërs, on August 24, 1914. A place full of emotion and respect.
