OLD TOWN HALL
Old town hall of Longwy of classical style with a monumental staircase supported by a wrought iron railing inside
Built between 1731 and 1746, the old town hall of Longwy is characteristic of the classical style of the 18th century. On the outside, one can see the imposing wrought iron grills of the three large bays on the first level, as well as the triangular pediments on the façade. Inside, one can see Louis XV style decorations, cross vaults and a monumental staircase supported by a wrought iron railing. Massively bombed in 1914, it was rebuilt from 1927 to 1930. The building has been classified as a historical monument since 1921.
