LA DOUËRA
A remarkable Mozarabic-style house in Malzéville, with guided tours and events.
This Moorish-style house is a remarkable local curiosity. It was painter Charles Cournault who, following his travels in Algeria, transformed his family home into a Moorish villa in 1856. It became the property of the town in 1986, which set about restoring and maintaining it. The house is also managed by an association, Les Amis de la Douëra, which organizes events such as the Douëraphonies. Guided tours are also available. The garden is criss-crossed by several paths in the style of picturesque gardens.
