Low city in Val de Briey, home to some remarkable points with beautiful hiking routes absolutely to discover
Situated on the banks of the Woigot, which crosses the town of Briey and feeds its body of water before flowing towards the Orne, and on the sides of the castle, the lower town is home to some remarkable points: the Saint-Antoine chapel (built in 1260, it was used as a chapel for the former Saint-Antoine hospital, closed in 1756), a stele of a hero shot in 1914 by the Uhlans, a corbelled house, the remains of a 16th century craft, and a calvary. It can be reached from the upper town via the Grand-Rue, a steep, cobbled medieval street. Enough to allow oneself beautiful hiking routes through all the arteries and subtleties of a town of Briey that is unlike any other. A change of scenery guaranteed!
