NOTRE-DAME CATHEDRAL
A visit to Dax Cathedral, with its ogival doorway, and a vestige of the former Gothic cathedral.
Built between the middle of the 17th century and the end of the 19th century, Notre-Dame de Dax's classical neo-Greek cathedral is open every day. What's inside worth a look? The ogival doorway known as the "Porte des Apôtres", a remnant of the former 13th-century Gothic cathedral. You'll also see some fine paintings, including Honthorst's Jesus and His Disciplesand Hans Von Aachen's Adoration of the Shepherds. Take advantage of the free guided tour organized by the Tourist Office on Thursdays at 4pm from April to October.
