MUSEUM OF BORDA
The borda museum in Dax, located in the former church of the Carmelite convent, presents temporary exhibitions.
The Borda Museum is not named after the naturalist and paleontologist Jacques-François Borda d'Oro (precursor of Prehistory), but after his relative, the navigator and scientist, Jean-Charles, chevalier de Borda. Housed in the former Carmelite convent church dating from 1523, the museum presents temporary exhibitions (prehistoric archaeology, medieval times, local and non-European ethnology, natural sciences, etc.). In 2024, the Borda Museum will be closed at least until July, but may not reopen until the autumn.
