Cemetery of Mont-Saint-Martin with a remarkable lime tree just at the entrance that still adorns the top of the mountain
The cemetery of Mont-Saint-Martin was once shared with that of Longwy, until 1638, when two plagues (famine and plague) ravaged the region. From then on, out of fear and superstition, the villagers no longer wanted to bury Longwy residents there. The Longwy cemetery, at the Croix Liborel, was then built in the "Religieuses" district. Only the pedestal remains today. A remarkable lime tree at the entrance still adorns the summit.
