Still little known, this care system has a success with the parents who adopted it. The child from 10 weeks to 3 years of age is kept by an employed maternal assistant and approved by the Commune Centre for Social Action of the City of Nancy. Parents do not pay their maternal assistant directly, it is the city that supports them. Day rates - including meals - are fixed according to family parent's family quotient. The assistants cover only two or three children, and at home have equipment - stroller, changing table, toy, etc. - to European standards, lent by the family nursery.
